Betting Rules

These Betting Rules explain the general principles that apply when you use the BK8 betting service. They are intended to help Australian players understand how bets are placed, accepted, settled and reviewed. Product-specific rules, event rules, market conditions and applicable laws may also apply, so you should read the information shown on the relevant betting page before confirming any wager.

1. General betting principles

By placing a bet with BK8, you confirm that you have read and understood these Betting Rules, the applicable Terms and Conditions, and any additional rules displayed for the product or market you are using. If a specific market rule conflicts with a general rule, the specific rule will normally apply to that market. If you are unsure how a market works, do not place a bet until you have obtained enough information to make an informed decision.

Betting services may include sports, racing, esports, live betting and other approved products. The markets available to you can depend on your location, account status, product availability and applicable legal requirements. Not every market, event or betting option will be available at all times. BK8 may change, suspend or remove a market where this is reasonably necessary, including where an event is delayed, cancelled, affected by technical problems or subject to unusual circumstances.

You must use your own account and provide information that is accurate, current and complete. You must not allow another person to access or use your account, and you must not place bets on behalf of another person. Account holders are responsible for reviewing their account activity and protecting their login details. If you believe that your account has been accessed without permission, you should stop using it and contact the available support channel as soon as possible.

  • You must meet the applicable minimum legal age and comply with the laws that apply where you are located.
  • You must not place bets while gambling is prohibited in your location.
  • You must not use the service for unlawful purposes, fraud, money laundering or any other prohibited activity.
  • You must not use automated tools, bots, scripts or other methods intended to interfere with the betting service.
  • You must check the selection, odds, stake and possible return before confirming a bet.
  • You should keep records of your bets and check your account history regularly.

2. Placing and accepting bets

Selecting a bet

A bet is created by selecting an available market, choosing an outcome and entering a stake or other required details. Before submission, the betting slip should show the important information, which may include the event, market, selection, odds, stake, potential return and any applicable conditions. You are responsible for checking this information carefully. A bet should only be submitted when you are satisfied that it is correct.

Displaying an event, selection or price does not always mean that a bet has been accepted. A bet is generally treated as accepted only after it has been successfully submitted and recorded in your account. The status shown in your account or betting history is the best way to confirm whether a bet has been accepted, rejected, cancelled or otherwise processed. A message, receipt or reference may be displayed after submission, but it is still your responsibility to check your account.

Odds, stake and changes

Odds and market information can change before a bet is accepted. Depending on the product and the options presented, you may be asked to confirm a change before the bet can proceed. If you do not accept the amended information, the bet may not be placed. Once accepted, the odds and stake will normally be recorded against the bet, subject to these rules, the relevant market rules and any correction required for an obvious error.

You must have sufficient available funds or other permitted credit in your account for the stake at the time the bet is accepted. A bet may be refused or cancelled if the required funds are not available, if account restrictions apply, or if the transaction cannot be completed for legal, technical, security or operational reasons. Any minimum or maximum stake, market limit or account restriction will be shown where applicable or dealt with under the relevant product rules.

  1. Review the event and market name.
  2. Confirm that the selected outcome is the one you intend to back.
  3. Check the odds, stake and any possible return shown on the betting slip.
  4. Read any displayed market conditions or special rules.
  5. Submit the bet only when all details are correct.
  6. Check your account history to confirm the final status.

Betting records

Your betting history may include the date and time of the bet, the event, the market, the selection, the odds, the stake, the result and the settlement status. You should keep a copy of relevant records where appropriate. If the details in your account appear incomplete or inconsistent, do not assume that a bet has been changed or cancelled. Review the available information and raise the issue through the available customer support process.

3. Events, markets and settlement

Event information

Event names, start times, competitors, venues and other information are provided to assist with bet selection. This information may be supplied by third parties and may change. You should consider the official information available for the relevant sport or event, particularly for live betting. A displayed start time is not necessarily a guarantee that the event will begin at that time.

Where an event is postponed, abandoned, interrupted, rescheduled, completed under changed conditions or affected by a format change, the applicable market rules will determine whether bets stand, are cancelled or are settled in another way. The treatment can differ between sports, competitions and markets. For that reason, you should read the rules shown for the event rather than rely on assumptions based on another sport or previous bet.

Results and settlement

Bets are settled using the official result or other result source identified in the relevant rules. Settlement may take place after the event has finished, after an official result has been confirmed, or when the required information becomes available. A result may be amended if the original result was incorrect, provisional or later changed under the rules of the relevant sport or event. If a settlement is corrected, the account balance and betting history may also be adjusted.

For win, place, total, handicap, head-to-head and similar markets, the meaning of the selection and the applicable settlement method should be checked before placing the bet. Some markets depend on a competitor starting, completing a specified part of an event, or meeting another condition. Dead heats, ties, non-runners, withdrawals, disqualifications and other unusual outcomes may be handled under the specific market rules.

Live betting

Live betting carries additional timing and information risks. Prices may change quickly, and there may be a short delay between an event occurring, the information being displayed and a bet being accepted. A bet submitted during a material change in play may be rejected, accepted at a different price or reviewed under the relevant rules. Information shown as live should not be treated as a guarantee that every event or incident has been reflected immediately.

Cancelled and void bets

A bet may be declared void or cancelled where the relevant rules require it. This may occur, for example, when an event does not take place, a market is offered incorrectly, a required condition is not met, or a technical or integrity issue affects the bet. The effect on related bets, multiples and combined wagers depends on the product rules. When a bet is void, the stake may be returned or the bet may be recalculated as provided by the applicable rules.

4. Errors, integrity and responsible betting

Obvious errors and technical issues

An obvious error may include a clearly incorrect price, event description, selection, result, market status or other information that a reasonable player would recognise as an error. If a bet is accepted using an obvious error, BK8 may correct, cancel or settle the bet in accordance with the applicable rules and law. This can apply whether the error is caused by a data feed, system issue, human mistake or another source.

Technical interruptions, connection failures, delays or display problems may affect the submission or confirmation of a bet. Do not repeatedly submit the same bet if you are unsure whether the first attempt succeeded. Check your account history before trying again. If a bet cannot be confirmed because of a technical problem, its status will be determined using the available system records and applicable rules.

Integrity and prohibited conduct

Betting must be conducted honestly and in a way that does not compromise the integrity of an event or the betting service. You must not use confidential or restricted information, manipulate an event, interfere with another player's account, exploit a vulnerability, or coordinate activity for an improper purpose. Bets may be reviewed where activity appears unusual, suspicious or inconsistent with these rules. Any review or action will be handled in accordance with the applicable terms, policies and legal requirements.

Responsible betting

Betting should be treated as entertainment, not as a way to make money or recover losses. Only bet with money you can afford to lose, set a budget before you begin and avoid increasing your stake because of a previous loss. Take regular breaks and consider the amount of time and money you spend. If betting stops being enjoyable or begins to affect your finances, relationships, work or wellbeing, stop and seek appropriate support.

  • Set personal spending and time limits before betting.
  • Do not chase losses or borrow money to gamble.
  • Avoid betting when upset, tired, intoxicated or under financial pressure.
  • Use available account controls, breaks or self-exclusion options if you need help managing your play.
  • Talk to a trusted person or an appropriate support service if you are concerned about your gambling.
  • Contact BK8 through the available support process if you need information about account controls or responsible gambling options.

Questions and rule updates

These rules may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to products, systems, legal requirements or operating procedures. The version published on the website will apply from the date stated or, where no date is stated, from publication. If you have a question about a particular bet, review the market information and account history first, then use the available customer support process. Keep the bet reference and relevant details available so the matter can be assessed efficiently.
